This policy describes what happens when you visit this site, not what a template assumes.

What We Collect

We don’t ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other personal detail, and there are no accounts and no newsletter. Where a page carries sponsored listings, they come with Esyoh’s own ZIP code search, and anything you type there goes to Esyoh, the network that serves them, not to us.

We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we run no retargeting pixels, social media trackers, session recording or heat mapping. What Esyoh’s script receives is set out under Advertising below.

Analytics on This Site

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. No Google Analytics is loaded, and Esyoh’s script, described under Advertising, sets no cookies either.

We may switch on privacy-respecting analytics later to count visits and see which pages are useful. If we do, this section will be updated before it goes live to name the provider, the cookies it sets and what it receives.

Advertising

This site earns money from sponsored school listings served by Esyoh, at esyoh.com, an advertising network for schools. Where a page carries them, they are marked as ads and sit apart from the rankings, the program cards and the tables; the about, methodology, privacy and terms pages carry none.

To show the listings, Esyoh’s script sends Esyoh the address of the page you are on and its title and main heading, so the listings match the subject. Your IP address reaches Esyoh with the request, which is how the listings are matched to a rough location, and the script tells Esyoh when a listing comes into view, which is how it counts the ads it has shown. It also works out an identifier from your browser and device settings, such as screen size, time zone and language, and sends it with each request; when you follow a listing, it adds a coded summary of those settings to the link, which Esyoh’s own script describes as a check against fraudulent clicks.

It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. A ZIP code typed into a listing’s search box opens Esyoh’s site in a new tab and goes to Esyoh, as does anything you submit there, under Esyoh’s own privacy policy. If you block esyoh.com, the listings never appear and the rest of the page works the same.

What Is Stored on Your Device

One thing, and it isn’t a cookie. The site follows your system’s light or dark setting. If you use the toggle in the header to choose one yourself, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key theme, so the site doesn’t flash the wrong colors the next time you open it. That value never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser’s storage removes it.

Server Logs and Your Visit

This site is served as static files by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which keeps standard access and security logs. Those logs are how any web host tells a real visitor from an attack, and they’re handled under Cloudflare’s own privacy terms. We don’t use them to build profiles of visitors.

Links to Schools and Other Sites

Program cards link to schools’ own sites, and the pages cite the federal IPEDS and College Scorecard files, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, the Department of Education’s accreditation database, and the officer standards boards and statutes whose rules they describe. Every link in a sponsored listing goes to Esyoh. Once you follow one of those links you’re on someone else’s site, under their privacy policy and with their trackers, not ours. We have no control over what they collect and take no responsibility for it.

How This Site Makes Money

This site earns money from sponsored school listings served by the education ad network Esyoh, which are marked as ads wherever they appear. Schools pay to appear in those listings, not in the rankings: a listing is not scored, and no listing can change a ranking. Rankings are scored on federal records, published prices and a reputation rating made the same way for every program, and program details come from each school’s own published pages.

To be precise about what that means: the links in the rankings are plain outbound links to schools’ own sites and to the sources we cite. We don’t operate lead forms and we pass no visitor information to schools. What Esyoh receives, it collects through its own script, as described under Advertising. If that ever changes, this policy and the disclosure will change with it, and the date at the top of this page will move.

Children and This Site

This site is written for people choosing a college degree and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Your Privacy Rights

Privacy laws, including the GDPR in Europe and the UK and the CCPA and CPRA in California, give you rights to access, correct, delete and port personal data an organization holds about you, and to object to its processing. We don’t hold personal data about visitors ourselves.

If you write to us, we keep that email so we can reply to it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. To use any of these rights, or to ask what we hold, write to hello@savomediagroup.com.

What Esyoh’s script collects goes to Esyoh directly from your browser, and requests about what Esyoh holds go to Esyoh. Blocking esyoh.com in your browser stops the script from loading and from collecting anything.

Changes to This Policy

If what we collect changes, this page changes first and the date at the top moves. The cases most likely to trigger that are turning on analytics and a change to the advertising.
