Terms of Use
Last Updated October 14, 2026
By using bestcriminaljusticedegree.com you accept the terms below. They cover what this site is, what its rankings mean and the limits of what you should rely on it for. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use the site.
What This Site Is
This is an independent reference and ranking site about criminal justice degree programs and the careers they lead to. It’s published by the operator of bestcriminaljusticedegree.com and isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or operated on behalf of any college, university, government agency, accrediting body or professional association named on it. References to institutions, degrees and credentials are for identification and comparison. Trademarks and program names belong to their owners. A school that buys a sponsored listing is an advertiser: buying ad space creates no affiliation or endorsement in either direction.
Information, Not Advice
Nothing here is educational, financial, legal or career advice, and nothing here creates a professional relationship between you and us. Choosing a degree has real financial consequences, and it should be decided with the school’s admissions and financial aid offices, not on the strength of a web page.
Accuracy and the Limits of Published Data
Award counts, distance-education status, tuition and graduation rates come from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). Graduate earnings come from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard, and wages from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics. Program endorsements come from the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, school accreditation from the Department of Education’s accreditation database, program summaries from each school’s own pages, and officer education rules from the state boards, statutes and rules that set them, each cited where it appears. The methodology page sets out the model in full.
Even so, this information carries the ordinary limits of published data. Federal datasets are released annually and describe a year that has already finished. Schools change tuition, credit requirements, delivery formats and admission rules without notice, and sometimes close programs. We correct what we find, but we can’t warrant that every figure is current or complete at the moment you read it.
The school and the board have the final word. Before you apply or pay anything, take current tuition, credit counts, delivery format, admission requirements and deadlines from the school itself, and take licensing and certification requirements from the officer standards board or agency that sets them.
What a Ranking Is
Our scores are editorial opinion, produced by applying a published, consistent model to published data. They aren’t a measure of educational quality, they aren’t an accreditation, and they don’t predict what any individual student will experience. A program’s position reflects the factors we chose to weigh and the data those factors could be computed from, both of which are set out on the methodology page along with what the model leaves out. The endorsement a few programs hold from the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences is that body’s judgment, not ours, and it isn’t accreditation.
No institution can buy a position, influence a score, or pay to be added to the rankings or removed from them. A school appears because it reported a criminal justice award to the federal government, and a program is ranked only when it meets the entry bar on the methodology page. The sponsored listings are ads and sit outside the rankings.
No Guarantee of Outcomes
Wage figures describe what people in an occupation were paid, not what you will be paid. Nothing here promises admission, graduation, a job offer, a place in a police academy, peace officer certification or any level of income. Each state’s officer standards board sets its own requirements, and a degree doesn’t meet them by itself. Nothing here is legal advice about a state’s rules. Career results depend on far more than which degree you hold.
How This Site Is Compensated
This site earns money from sponsored school listings served by the education ad network Esyoh, which are marked as ads wherever they appear. Schools pay to appear in those listings, not in the rankings: a listing is not scored, and no listing can change a ranking. Rankings are scored on federal records, published prices and a reputation rating made the same way for every program, and program details come from each school’s own published pages.
What a sponsored listing says about a school or program comes from Esyoh and the school that placed it, not from this site. Every link in a listing goes to Esyoh’s site, and anything you submit there goes to Esyoh and the school under their terms, not ours.
Acceptable Use
You may read, link to, quote and cite this site freely. You may not:
- copy or scrape the rankings or datasets in bulk in order to republish them, whether as a competing site, a data feed or training material;
- present our data or scores as your own, or as though a school or a government agency produced them;
- use automated tools in a way that degrades the site for other people, or try to get around access controls or security measures;
- use the site for anything unlawful, or to infringe anyone’s rights.
Quoting a figure or a passage with a link back is fine and welcome. Reproducing whole pages or the underlying dataset is not.
Our Content and Other People’s
The scoring model, page copy and site design are ours and are protected by copyright. The underlying federal data from IPEDS, College Scorecard and the Bureau of Labor Statistics is United States government work and isn’t ours to restrict. Schools’ program pages, the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences’ lists, and the statutes and rules of state boards remain their owners’ material, summarized or briefly quoted here for comparison and attributed where they appear.
Links to Other Sites
We link to schools, federal agencies, state boards and professional associations throughout. We don’t control those sites, don’t endorse everything on them, and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.
Site Availability
The site is provided as is and as available. We don’t warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may change, move or remove pages, including whole rankings, at any time.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of bestcriminaljusticedegree.com isn’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, opportunity, savings or data, arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything published on it. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, in which case those limitations apply only as far as the law permits, and nothing here removes rights you can’t waive.
Corrections to Site Content
If something on this site is wrong, we want to fix it. Every program card links the school’s own page and every rule links its source. Send the page and the figure to hello@savomediagroup.com. Corrections are made to the underlying data, which updates every page that uses it, rather than patching one sentence.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised version.
